Ko Samet Ko Samet  , Thai pronunciation :  is one of the Eastern Seaboard  Islands of  Thailand . It is in the  Gulf of Thailand  off the coastline of the Thai  province of  Rayong , approximately 220 kilometres (140 mi) southeast of  Bangkok . Ko Samet is part of the Phe  Subdistrict of the  Amphoe Mueang Rayong , the capital district, or  Amphoe Mueang , of  Rayong Province . Ko Samet is the largest and westernmost of a cluster of islands not far from the coast. Ko Samet is 6.5 kilometres (4.0 mi) south of mainland Rayong Province. Popular with foreign tourists and as a weekend getaway for residents of nearby Bangkok , most of the island (excluding the Na Dan area) is in the  Khao Laem Ya–Mu Ko Samet National Park . Hipster   The  hipster   subculture  typically consists of white  millennials  living in urban areas. Amphawa Floating Market                Amphawa is the second most popular floating market near Bangkok, not as large as Damnoen Saduak but more authentic, with visitors almost exclusively Thai. Located 50 km from Bangkok this once small village was apparently already present in the mid-Seventeenth Century. It has become such a magnet for Thai weekenders that food stalls have grown from the riverbanks and stretched far into the surrounding streets.                 The main draw is of course eating seafood grilled procariously on wooden boats moored around the famous central bridge, serving an appetizing array of huge prawns, shellfish and squid. Phra Pathommachedi พระปฐมเจดีย์ Phra Pathommachedi  or  Phra Pathom Chedi  is a stupa   in Thailand. At 120.5 metres (395 ft) it is the tallest stupa in the world. The stupa is located in the  Wat Phra Pathommachedi Ratcha Wora Maha Wihan , a temple in the town center of Nakhon Pathom  ,Thailand . The name Phra Pathommachedi means the first holy stupa, given by Mongkut . Originally the stupa named Phra Thom Chedi means the big stupa in ancient Khmer   language  or the royal stupa in Northern   Thai language . One of the common misunderstandings about the stupa is Phra Pathommachedi is the oldest and the first stupa in Suvarnabhumi , an ancient name of Southeast Asia . Modern Historians believe that the stupa was one of the principal stupas of ancient Nakhon Pathom, the largest settlement of Dvaravati  culture in Nakhon   Pathom  area together with the nearby Pra Pathonnachedi   during the 6th to the 8th centuries.
